Make a Difference in Lancaster Join us as a Market Assistant and play a vital role in keeping Lancaster’s markets vibrant, safe, and welcoming. You’ll support the smooth daily running of the Festival Market in Morecambe and occasionally assist at the Assembly Rooms Emporium and Charter Market in Lancaster. Your work will help foster a thriving community hub where traders and visitors feel valued and secure.

What You’ll Be Doing You’ll open and close the markets securely, maintain safety and security, and provide a visible, friendly presence. Your duties include assisting with administration, monitoring health and safety, managing waste areas, and supporting traders. You’ll also help deter anti-social behaviour, liaise with community officers, and contribute to improving market operations. You’ll Fit Right In If… You have experience in customer service and a keen eye for detail.

You communicate confidently and tactfully, work well both independently and as part of a team, and are comfortable using digital devices.
