Job Description We are currently seeking a talented Design Engineer for a leading manufacturer in Memphis, TN that specializes in products for the electric power industry. This role will involve designing and developing new products for the electric utility market and overseeing engineering activities for existing products. Create innovative designs, drawings, and specifications for new product parts and assemblies Assess and suggest specifications to ensure products meet technical and functional requirements Analyze proposed product modifications and enhancements Conduct feasibility, functional, and quality tests on designs Utilize finite element analysis (FEA) and calculations for design validation Coordinate prototype development and testing Oversee the creation and approval of engineering drawing changes Implement efficient and cost-effective procedures Generate test reports for internal use and publication Collaborate with engineering team members to ensure project deadlines are met Provide technical support to Field Sales personnel Qualifications Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 2-5 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing setting Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or ProE Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (e.g.
casting, molding, machining)
