The successful candidates will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair of rotating equipment in industrial environments, particularly within Power Plant and Oil and Gas industries.
Mechanical Fitter Qualifications: 43 years old and below. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Fitter. Proven experience working in the Power Plant or Oil and Gas industry. Strong experience installing, maintaining, and repairing rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, and gearboxes. Skilled in equipment alignment and precision fitting. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Good vibration awareness and ability to recognize abnormal equipment conditions. Knowledge of mechanical maintenance procedures, equipment components, tolerances, and clearances. Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, technical specifications, equipment manuals, and maintenance instructions. Proficient in using mechanical fitting tools and precision measuring equipment. Physically fit and capable of performing demanding industrial maintenance work.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Good communication and teamwork skills. Safety-conscious, reliable, disciplined, and able to work effectively in industrial environments. Responsibilities: Install, assemble, maintain, and repair rotating mechanical equipment and machinery. Work on pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment. Perform precision fitting and mechanical assembly according to technical specifications.
Conduct accurate equipment alignment using appropriate precision measuring and alignment tools. Inspect rotating equipment and components for wear, damage, defects, and abnormal operating conditions. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical faults and identify the causes of equipment problems. Assist with equipment dismantling, inspection, repair, component replacement, and reassembly.
Perform shaft, coupling, bearing, seal, and other mechanical component installation and adjustment as required. Check equipment alignment, clearances, tolerances, and operating conditions. Apply proper fitting and installation techniques to ensure reliable equipment performance. Demonstrate vibration awareness and identify unusual vibration, noise, temperature, or operating conditions. Report equipment defects, abnormal conditions, and maintenance requirements to supervisors.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, specifications, and maintenance instructions. Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and mechanical fitting equipment safely. Follow established maintenance procedures and manufacturer recommendations. Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, electricians, welders, and other trades during maintenance and installation activities.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition. Follow workplace health and safety, environmental, and quality-control requirements. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices. Complete assigned maintenance and mechanical fitting tasks according to project schedules. Perform other mechanical fitting, maintenance, and industrial duties as assigned.
