Mechanical Technician – Job Description Execute hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhauls of rotating and stationary equipment. Responsibilities require interpreting complex mechanical drawings, conducting preventive maintenance, ensuring compliance with strict safety standards, and preparing permits for safe daily operations. Core Job Responsibilities Perform skilled maintenance on both rotating equipment (., pumps, compressors, turbines) and stationary equipment.
Diagnose mechanical faults, disassemble components, replace worn parts, and reassemble machinery to exact manufacturer tolerances. Read and interpret technical manuals, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and datasheets. Record maintenance activities, preserve removed parts, and track spare parts inventory using systems like SAP Service, pressure-test, and redress various critical flow-control, safety, and process valves.
Execute work under the Permit to Work (PTW) system, conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and strictly follow safety, health, and environmental guidelines. Job Requirements & Qualifications Education & Training : ITI certificate or a Diploma in Mechanical/Plumbing trades is highly preferred. Experience: 5 years of hands-on experience with in oil and gas industry.
