Title: Medical Director Position: Full-time professional Status: Exempt Department: Administration Supervisor: Chief Medical Officer Position Summary: The Medical Director supports the Chief Medical Officer in managing ChesPenn’s medical services. The Medical Director will partner with other members of the leadership team and management staff to ensure quality of care, improve health outcomes, and reduce health disparities.

The Medical Director will develop clear and continuous forms of communication with clinicians, clinical support staff, community partners, and facilitate collaborative relationships. This position will dedicate 0.6 FTE to administrative work and 0.4 FTE clinical time. Qualifications: Education: Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree with board certification in a primary care specialty Years of Experience: Three years’ experience in a healthcare leadership role.

Experience with FQHC utilization review, quality management and FQHC physician practice management Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: · Outstanding patient-centered clinical skills · Demonstrate high level of integrity and dependability · Function well in a team environment, contributing to and supporting organizational goals and initiatives · Operate effectively as part of a Leadership Team · Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong problem solving and supervision skills · Strong interpersonal skills and qualities which earn the confidence and respect of both staff and resident of the community · Ability to motivate staff and promote team building · Demonstrate sensitivity to needs of culturally and linguistically diverse patient and employee population · Understanding of trauma-informed principles and practices preferred · Ability to utilize computer technology and willingness to develop and adapt to the evolving technological requirements of modern medical health center practices Scope of Responsibilities: · Serve as an active member of the Leadership Team · Direct and oversee daily aspects of the clinical functions of the organization · Monitor and improve the standards of care through performance benchmarks and goals · Under guidance from the CMO, develop, implement, monitor and revise clinical policies and procedures, quality initiatives and practice guidelines · Recommend strategies to enhance clinical performance, effectiveness, efficiencies, productivity and compliance · Oversee utilization review, pay-for-performance programs and provider productivity measurements · Assist the CMO in development, direction, and oversight of Quality Assurance / Quality Improvement activities including ensuring implementation and updating of operating procedures.

· Supervise provider staff, including doctors, mid-level practitioners, specialty providers and clinical support managers · Ensure clinical compliance with the 19 program requirements of an FQHC · Participate in all committees and activities related to FQHC activities · Ensure that medical staff clinical practices followed within the health center comply with all local, state, federal and other regulatory requirements as well as nationally recognized standards of care · Collaborate with Human Resources in recruitment and evaluation of medical provider candidates · Provide input to ChesPenn staff for grant writing and direct implementation of grants related to clinical activity · Collaborate and strengthen relationships with outside organizations around providing activities beneficial for patient care Physical demands: · Moderate physical effort Work environment: · Primary work environment is a busy multi-site, multi-cultural ambulatory care setting.
