NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Medical Secretary to provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to Consultants and multidisciplinary teams within Acute Services. This is a rewarding and varied role where you will play a key part in supporting patient pathways, coordinating clinical activity and ensuring the smooth running of busy services.
Joining NHSGGC means becoming part of Scotland's largest NHS Board, where your contribution is valued and where you can develop your skills within a supportive, inclusive and patient-focused environment., Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to Consultants and clinical teams Manage diaries, correspondence, clinic administration and a range of departmental processes Coordinate patient appointments, admissions, investigations and follow-up arrangements Act as a key point of contact for patients, relatives, staff and external agencies, dealing with enquiries professionally and sensitively Maintain accurate patient information using a variety of clinical and administrative systems Support waiting list management and contribute to achieving service targets and performance standards Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery, We offer a wide range of supportive policies designed to enhance your employee journey, including a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme, Cycle to Work Scheme, bursary scheme and extensive learning and development opportunities.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS)., HNC/SVQ Level III in Secretarial Studies, Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience Strong administrative and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a demanding workload Advanced keyboard skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic information systems Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships Ability to work independently, use initiative and maintain confidentiality, diplomacy and tact at all times Experience within a healthcare environment and knowledge of medical terminology would be advantageous NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and roles.
