The role of the Travel and Transport Manager is to ensure the cost-effective provision of business travel services, delivering Best Value for Money (BVFM) and meeting the customer’s expectations and requirements.

To deliver all outputs, ensuring that all support is delivered efficiently and in line with the policy. Oversee the delivery of all outputs within the Travel Cell and Motor Transport (MT), ensuring that all support is delivered efficiently, with cost effective provision of BS Travel and Transport.

Working iaw JSP 800 - Defence Movements and Transport Policy, JSP 752, NCHQ Driver and MT Standing Orders, the Babcock Phoenix White Fleet (WF) contract and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Line Management of the Deputy Travel Manager (EO) and Deputy Transport Manager (EO), both manage their own teams acting as the Counter Signing Officer to of all T&T Personnel within the D band Chain of Command (CoC).

To assist the Deputy Travel Manager in the development and improvement of Defence Travel Modernisation (DTM) in consultation with the Defence Travel Management Organisation (DTMO), liaising with Global Business Travel (GBT). Communicating DTM across the TLB, arranging any training requirements in conjunction with the DTMO and reporting any system issues. Act as Motor Transport Officer (MTO) for the NCHQ Transport Section of all MOD WF vehicles including Coach/Bus services.

To be fully conversant with the NCHQ MT Standing Orders, JSP 800, the Babcock Phoenix WF contract and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) keeping up to date with amendments. To act as the Area Demanding Officer (ADO) for Navy Command HQ Units in Southern, South West and Northern regions for all MOD Vehicles and Hire vehicles IAW the Navy Command ADO (& ADMIN 1) TOR's - Manging Lease and Hire Vehicles.
