This role offers the chance to work in a Level I Trauma environment providing critical neurosurgical care and supporting a high-acuity patient population. 📍 Location Lakewood, Colorado 🏥 Practice Setting • Level I Trauma Center • Inpatient / Call Coverage • EMR: EPIC • High-acuity neurosurgical cases 🕒 Coverage Needed Primary Coverage: • March 16 (7:00 AM) – March 20 (7:00 AM) Future Coverage: • Ongoing dates expected starting May/June 2026 Schedule • 24-hour call shifts (7 AM – 7 AM) • Includes 8 hours of gratis time • Continuous trauma call coverage 👨‍⚕️ Position Overview The Neurosurgeon will provide primary neurosurgical call coverage in a busy trauma program.
The role requires strong expertise in trauma neurosurgery, spine procedures, and critical care management of complex neurological cases. ✨ Key Responsibilities • Provide neurosurgical call coverage for trauma cases • Manage patients in a Level I Trauma Center environment • Perform emergency neurosurgical procedures • Treat traumatic brain injuries and spinal conditions • Manage ICU patients with severe neurological conditions • Perform procedures such as craniectomy, craniotomy, and ICP monitoring • Collaborate with trauma teams, intensivists, and hospital staff • Document patient care using EPIC EMR 🛠 Required Procedures Experience Candidates must have recent experience with: • External Ventricular Drain (EVD) placement • Intracranial pressure monitoring bolt placement • Craniectomy and craniotomy • Spine procedures • ICU management of severe traumatic brain injury • Brain tumor management Recent Level I Trauma Center experience within the last year is required.
