Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (Weekend Clinical Research) – Chandler, AZ Overview & Highlights Location: Chandler, AZ Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts (3/12s), Friday–Sunday Employment Type: Full-time, exempt Compensation: $130,000–$155,000 per year, depending on experience Focus: Phase 1 clinical research, liver disease, gastroenterology, and hepatology Reports To: VP of Research Benefits: 4 weeks PTO, CME budget and time off, medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k) with 6% company match, paid holidays, sick time, and disability coverage Location & Logistics Work Environment: On-site Phase 1 clinical research and specialty patient care setting Schedule: Friday–Sunday, three 12-hour shifts per week Weekly Structure: Three scheduled workdays with Monday–Thursday off Travel: Interoffice travel may be required; company vehicle or mileage reimbursement options available On-Call: Participation in the APP call rotation as applicable About the Opportunity / A Day in the Life We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join a Phase 1 clinical research team in Chandler, Arizona.

This is a specialized opportunity for an APP who understands clinical research and wants direct involvement in the evaluation of emerging therapies while providing high-quality care to patients with liver and gastrointestinal conditions. Working three 12-hour shifts from Friday through Sunday , you will evaluate and manage standard-of-care and clinical research patients, conduct consultations and pretreatment reviews, perform medical and safety assessments, and support patients throughout their participation in clinical trials.

You will work in a Sub-Investigator capacity , collaborating closely with physicians, clinical research coordinators, recruiters, and other research professionals. Your responsibilities will include understanding assigned protocols, completing research visits, reviewing source documentation and informed consent records, and ensuring clinical decisions align with patient safety and study requirements.

This is a hands-on role with meaningful patient and study ownership. You will help manage patients from their initial evaluation through study completion and closeout while contributing to Phase 1 research and innovative treatment options. Serve in a Sub-Investigator capacity and support the clinical execution of Phase 1 research protocols. Oversee appropriate aspects of clinical trial patient care and perform medical and safety reviews. Diagnose conditions and make appropriate treatment decisions within established scope of practice. Educate patients regarding therapeutic options available through applicable liver clinical trials. Counsel patients and families and collaborate with physicians regarding appropriate direct-care interventions.
