Core Responsibilities:We are looking for a professional who thrives in a team environment, yet works well independently, to support the Department of Health and Human Service's mission to promote health and safety for all Maine people.What can you expect to do as a Survey Team Coordinator? • Coordinate a team of surveyors as you conduct inspections and investigate complaint allegations in acute-level providers such as hospitals, hospices, ambulatory surgical centers, and others;• Interview complainants and witnesses to obtain information regarding complaint allegations;• Perform record reviews and observations in facilities;• Write reports known as "Statements of Deficiencies," which outline the rules/regulations that the facility failed to follow;• Assist your team members to ensure Statements of Deficiencies comply with the requirements set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS");• Participate in training, including mandatory online training required by CMS;• Ensure that facilities comply with both Federal and State licensing requirementsThis position does require statewide travel and occasional overnight stays; in addition, it may be necessary to conduct occasional early morning, night, or weekend survey work.Minimum Qualifications:Registered Nurse and a four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of nursing and/or in the delivery of health care services.Licensing Requirements: (This must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class)Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Maine as issued by the State Board of Nursing.

Preferred candidates will ALSO have: • Experience working as a nurse in hospitals - particularly medical/surgical, emergency department, operating room, or intensive care unit• Experience working as a nurse in ambulatory surgical centers; home health care agencies, dialysis facilities or hospices;• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills; and• A demonstrated knowledge of or willingness to learn federal and state regulatory requirements for acute healthcare facilitiesThinking about applying?Research shows that people from historically excluded communities tend to apply to jobs only when they check every box in the posting.
