The Rowett Institute, University of Aberdeen, is world-leading in nutrition research focusing on some of the key global challenges with regards to healthy and sustainable diets, food safety, and the Scottish food supply chain. Job Description We are seeking a proactive and highly motivated Nutrition Assistant to join the Human Intervention Study Unit (HISU), a modern research facility that supports a wide range of human nutrition studies.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team of nutritionists, dietitians, clinical staff and researchers, you will play an important role in the delivery of cutting-edge nutrition research. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and preparing study diets in accordance with research protocols and for supporting the day-to-day operation of the HISU metabolic kitchen. The role also involves dietary analysis using Nutritics software, supporting participant-facing activities, and contributing to knowledge exchange and teaching activities within the Institute.

Applicants should hold a degree (or equivalent) in Nutrition, Dietetics or a related subject, possess excellent organisational and communication skills, and have an understanding of food composition and food hygiene. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team is essential. Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate must be able to start work at 6.30am when required and hold a valid driving licence.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 4 scale, £28,199 – £31,236 per annum, with placement according to qualifications and experience The closing date for the receipt of applications is 18 September 2026
