Are you motivated to contribute your experience and benefit from the university environment? The University Psychiatric Clinics (UPK) Basel are one of the leading university psychiatric clinics in Switzerland. Our goal is the continuous improvement of the treatment of our patients to achieve their best possible quality of life. With its diverse offerings, garden therapy makes an important contribution to the promotion, maintenance and restoration of functional health.

Our well-maintained garden therapy area - with its mixed cultures of vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers, the greenhouses and the "Klause" - opens up a rich experiential space full of meaningful, significant and work-related activities for our patients. In garden therapy, the gardener and occupational therapist work closely and collegially together: the gardener is responsible for the management of the garden and advises and supports the occupational therapy.

Garden work follows the natural course of the seasons - with all their changing, seasonally shaped tasks. We are looking for a committed occupational therapist with joy, ideas and passion for garden therapy. Occupational Therapist for Garden Therapy 70% Your Tasks You are responsible for the independent organisation, implementation and documentation of the specialised therapeutic treatment of inpatient, day patient and outpatient clients.

You independently conduct group therapies as well as disorder-specific individual therapies in the garden and its adjacent premises, taking into account the individual support goals of the patients, and develop resource-adapted offers focusing on meaningfulness, interest development, socio-emotional skills and self-management and health promotion. You carry out assessments, write reports and prepare progress documentation.

Support and good collegial cooperation in a young, committed team of gardener and occupational, work and nutritional therapists. You work closely with the interprofessional treatment teams of the departments and specialist colleagues of the Medical-Therapeutic Services. Your Competences You enjoy working with people and in the garden. You are an empathetic and motivated personality and enjoy enriching our specialised therapy team with your commitment.

You have completed vocational training/studies as an occupational therapist and preferably have professional experience with psychologically burdened people. You bring initial experience in garden therapy or are interested in intensively engaging with the topic. You are familiar with experience- and mindfulness-based or integrative methods. You are confident in handling assessment tools and assessments.

You possess social skills, resilience, humour and the ability to self-organise. Your Perspectives with Us An interesting and responsible role. Thorough induction and collegial interprofessional collaboration. Attractive and contemporary employment conditions under the collective labour agreement (e.g. minimum 30 days holiday/time off per year, above-average pension fund benefits: 2/3 of pension fund contributions are paid by the employer, non-occupational accident insurance (contributions: employee 2/3, employer 1/3)).

Attractive and diverse further training programme (internal course programme, support for external further training, professional and leadership development). Exclusive fleet discounts with various vehicle manufacturers. TNW network: U-pass at a reduced price (job ticket). Free sports offerings on and off the UPK campus (e.g. Pilates, Power Yoga, gym; discounted fitness centre offer). Various catering options directly on the UPK campus.

Beautiful park area, quiet working environment. More information at https://karriere.upk.ch/ihr-vorteil.html The permanent position is available from mid-January 2027 or by arrangement.
