Job Title: Nephrologist Location: Nellis AFB, NV 89191 Duration: 2 Years to permanent Shift: Standard First Shift Job Responsibilities: • This contract covers procured non-personal Nephrologist services for the provision of Inpatient Critical and Acute Care and urgent and emergent consultative services. • Coverage includes management and disposition of urgent outpatient issues that would otherwise be managed by the full-time Nephrology staff if present, to include telephone messages, provider and nurse inquiries and response to abnormal test results as well as Nephrologist consultative services Emergency Department and inpatient services.
• All physicians providing medical services shall, at all times, comply with the laws, rules and regulations of all governmental authorities having jurisdiction (to include all Defense Health Agency, Department of Defense and Air Force policies). . • The Group shall appoint a Medical Director to supervise the operation of services provided under this contract and proper provision thereof.
The Medical Director will supervise and coordinate the medical services and operation of the Group in conjunction with the Critical Care • Medical Directors, Critical Care Unit Flight Commander, and the respective Medical Services Flight commander. The Medical Director shall supervise the Group's practices, medical staff relations, and such other group functions. The Medical Director shall devote as much time to the operation and conduct of the service at as is necessary to provide proper and adequate service and to obtain maximum efficiency.
The Medical Director shall be privileged to practice at and maintain a medical staff appointment. The use of shall be solely for the normal conduct of medical services on a professional basis. The Group will be expected to participate in performance improvement activities which include but aren't limited to the trauma performance improvement program. • The physicians within the Group may be requested to participate in medical staff committees, staff conferences in person or by phone (e.g.
Morbidity and Mortality conferences, Process Improvement and Patient Safety committees required by the American College of Surgeons, etc.), • Teaching opportunities shall be undertaken for purposes of meeting ACGME requirements for FMR and for maintaining or improving the quality of care to the patients . The Group shall cooperate with and assist physicians on staff with preparation of reports and studies for publication.
The Medical Director agrees to consult periodically with the Medical Director for Trauma, Medical Directors for Inpatient Services, the Chief of the Medical Staff, the Hospital Administrator, and the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff (ECOMS) related to performance of this contract. • The Group must be capable of providing all required nephrology consultative services for a Level III Trauma Center, with medical and surgical Intensive Care capabilities but without transplant or outpatient dialysis programs.
• Must maintain clinical competencies and perform the required services and procedures to include but not limited to: • Provision of expert consultative services to all inpatient and outpatient teams across the range of core nephrology disciplines. • Coordination of nephrology services with other medical activities. • Diagnosis and treatment of pertinent conditions.
Including the preparation and review case histories and clinical records. Order/perform diagnostic procedures including x-ray examinations, clinical laboratory tests including urine microscopy. Interpretation of test results and examination findings, and appropriate treatment and disposition. • Consultative services will include patients previously established with the • Nephrology Clinic, those receiving care elsewhere for known renal disease and those with previously undiagnosed acute or chronic nephrological disorders.
