Operations Assistant

TruPoint Backyard Buildings Service Area: Central & Western North Carolina and Southern Virginia Home-Based with Company Vehicle Provided Position Overview TruPoint Backyard Buildings is seeking a dependable, versatile, and self-motivated Operations Assistant to support a variety of operational needs across our growing network of retail sales centers and customer locations. This is a colorful, hands-on role that combines field service, light construction, inventory management, maintenance, and operational support.

No two days are exactly alike. One day you may be performing shed repairs for a customer, while the next day you are organizing inventory, maintaining a display lot, or assisting with facility improvements at one of our retail locations. The position is based out of Hamptonville, North Carolina, but the selected candidate may live anywhere within our service area covering central and western North Carolina and southern Virginia.

A company vehicle will be provided, and the employee will have the ability to park the vehicle at home. Key Responsibilities Perform minor repairs, touch-ups, and warranty work on portable buildings and sheds. Complete basic maintenance and upkeep of display buildings and retail sales centers. Assist with inventory management, organization, and tracking of materials and supplies. Maintain lot appearance, including cleaning, landscaping touch-ups, signage, and general property upkeep.

Travel regularly to various TruPoint sales centers and customer locations throughout the service territory. Conduct routine inspections of display buildings and identify maintenance needs. Assist with deliveries, setup support, and operational projects as needed. Coordinate with sales, production, and management teams to ensure a positive customer experience. Operate company equipment and vehicles safely and professionally.

Support special projects and operational initiatives as assigned. Qualifications General knowledge of basic construction, maintenance, carpentry, or repair work. Ability to use common hand and power tools safely. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage a mobile work schedule. Positive attitude and willingness to tackle a variety of tasks.

Strong communication and customer service skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications Experience in construction, facilities maintenance, handyman services, inventory management, or a related field. Familiarity with portable buildings, sheds, or residential construction is beneficial but not required.
