Operations Executive - FMCG Distribution Salary Package: €26,000 to €34,000 About Our Client Heroix is collaborating with a well-established Maltese food production company. Our Client maintains rigorous quality, food safety and hygiene standards and supplying consumer goods throughout the Maltese Islands. Role Overview The Operations Executive will support the effective movement, storage and availability of the Company’s products, covering delivery planning, distributor coordination, inventory monitoring and product returns.
Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the selected individual will help maintain dependable distribution operations while promoting service quality and compliance across the network. Key Responsibilities Delivery Planning: Prepare practical delivery rosters through the appropriate scheduling systems, ensuring drivers follow agreed routes and timeframes. Performance Analysis: Review operational information to identify distribution challenges, measure results and recommend improvements to delivery processes.
Driver Coordination: Oversee driver conduct, support the selection of suitable new drivers and encourage consistently professional service standards. Distribution Management: Work closely with cold-storage personnel to align dispatch activity, product handling and delivery requirements. Distributor Communication: Chair monthly discussions with distributors to communicate changes relating to products, presentation and operational requirements.
Commercial Liaison: Act as the main link between distributors and the Company’s sales and marketing teams, helping information flow effectively between all parties. Policy and Contract Compliance: Monitor distributors’ adherence to contractual obligations and internal procedures, highlighting gaps in sales performance or operational standards. Vehicle Inspections: Check distributors’ vehicles for cleanliness and confirm that temperature conditions meet the required standards for transporting food products.
Stock Monitoring: Carry out daily inventory checks and prepare demand projections across the full product portfolio. Customer Relations: Serve as a key contact for business customers, including retailers, catering establishments and hotels, responding to distribution-related enquiries. Management Reporting: Compile accurate weekly updates and other operational reports requested by management. Additional Support: Undertake other reasonable responsibilities that contribute to the effective running of the distribution function.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes Education: A relevant qualification in logistics, supply chain management, business administration or a related discipline would be advantageous. Experience: A minimum of three to four years’ experience in a comparable distribution or logistics position within the fast-moving consumer goods sector is required. Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role.
The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset. Communication Skills: Strong written, verbal and reporting abilities, with the confidence to communicate clearly with drivers, distributors, customers and internal departments. Interpersonal Skills: A collaborative approach and the ability to establish productive working relationships with colleagues and external partners. Technical Skills: Good computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Excel, together with practical experience using an enterprise resource planning system and delivery-planning software.
Organisation: Excellent planning and coordination capabilities, with the ability to manage schedules, stock information, reporting deadlines and competing operational priorities.
