We are hiring a Oracle/Linux DBA to start immediately for a contract to hire position. Hybrid on site in Riverside, CA. up to 78/hour on W2 (no C2C OR 1099 OR Sponsorship) Must have both Oracle and Linux experience especially within a cluster environment! Position SummaryUnder general direction, the Oracle/Linux DBA is responsible for performing a variety of complex professional, technical, and analytical duties in the areas of database administration, system support, testing, troubleshooting, installation, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of assigned systems, databases, programs, and applications.
This position may serve as a specialized project lead or provide guidance and oversight to technical staff while supporting critical enterprise technology systems and infrastructure. The Oracle/Linux DBA performs other duties as assigned. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTypical duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:Perform highly complex system analysis and consultation in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of information systems, networks, servers, databases, and supporting hardware and software applications.Provide technical leadership and guidance to Innovation & Technology staff and project team members.Provide advanced technical assistance and support to system users in accordance with established information technology policies, procedures, methods, and standards.Evaluate, plan, implement, integrate, and support new systems and upgrades to existing systems.Review complex technical reports, analyses, and documentation.Lead or participate in specialized technology and infrastructure projects.Conduct research, gather pricing information, evaluate vendor solutions, and provide recommendations for hardware and software acquisitions consistent with organizational standards.Develop and maintain system documentation, procedural manuals, technical specifications, and architectural designs.Coordinate and provide training for users on assigned systems, applications, and technology initiatives.Collaborate with management to identify and recommend enhancements that improve services, processes, policies, and procedures.Utilize strong written and verbal communication skills when interacting with technical staff, management, vendors, and end users with varying levels of technical expertise.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and technical support resources.Participate in on-call support rotations and provide after-hours support as assigned.Provide scheduled after-hours support for migrations, installations, troubleshooting activities, maintenance, and system upgrades.Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsOption IEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field.Experience: Five (5) years of full-time professional experience in computer science, information systems, voice/data communications, data center operations, database administration, or a closely related field, including at least two (2) years in a project management, lead, or supervisory capacity.Option IIEducation: Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field.Experience: Seven (7) years of full-time professional experience in computer science, information systems, voice/data communications, data center operations, database administration, or a closely related field, including at least two (2) years in a project management, lead, or supervisory capacity.Option IIIEducation: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.Experience: Nine (9) years of full-time professional experience in computer science, information systems, voice/data communications, data center operations, database administration, or a closely related field, including at least two (2) years in a project management, lead, or supervisory capacity.
