Madeleine) JOB SUMMARY The incumbent delivers high-quality educational experiences that support students in achieving their academic goals and career ambitions within the Welder Diploma Program.
This role encompasses responsibilities in instruction and student learning, curriculum design and enhancement, academic advising, ongoing professional development, institutional engagement, and fostering strong relationships with the community. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Develop and deliver daily lesson plans and comprehensive course materials—including lectures, projects, assignments, handouts, and assessments (midterm and final exams)—to support successful course completion.
2. Ensure all instructional preparation is completed in a timely and organized manner. 3. Apply effective, professional teaching and demonstration techniques to facilitate student learning and achievement of course objectives. 4. Mentor, guide, and support students in achieving their academic, programme, and career goals. 5. Stay current with industry trends and workforce demands, integrating relevant updates and best practices into course content and instruction.
6. Assess and monitor student performance, maintain accurate records, and refer students requiring additional support to appropriate services. 7. Submit all student-related records (e.g., attendance, assignments, projects, and examination results) accurately and within established deadlines. 8. Daily monitor student learning to ensure graduation and employability of students. 9. Actively conduct research to assist in bringing the theory to life for student understanding and development.
10. Utilise exam results and student survey feedback towards improvement in delivery. 11. Ensure compliance with all institutional policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. 12. Promote and maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and equipment. 13. Maintain professional interaction with students in conversation and in online activities. 14. Collaborate with colleagues to address instructional, research, and performance-related matters.
15. Participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities. 16. Support the development of strategic partnerships, and contribute to student recruitment and placement activities. 17. Work Environment: Work is primarily performed in a classroom or workshop setting under limited supervision. Incumbents may be exposed to electrical, mechanical, and chemical hazards. 18. Physical Requirements: Essential functions require manual dexterity, ability to communicate, lifting, kneeling, squatting, climbing, crawling, stooping, turning/twisting, balancing, reaching, and handling with varying frequencies.
19. Heavy Work: Occasional lifting and carrying objects up to 75 pounds; frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and/or continuous lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 10–20 pounds. 20. Demonstrate loyalty to the organisation initiatives in all conversations, actions, and interactions with students and fellow co-workers. 21. Utilise professional / safety attire in delivery of course material and practical work.
22. Ensure knowledge of and adherence to Quality Management, HSSE & HR Requirements for job areas. 23. Perform related duties as required.
