Quick Facts Location: Roanoke, VA (1906 Belleview Avenue Southeast, 24014) Start Date: 05/05/2026 Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent Shift: M-F (may include on-call or after-hours as needed) Hours/Week: Negotiable based on scope of practice Experience: Board-Certified Neonatologist (MD/DO), at least 1 year of experience preferred Certifications: Current medical license, board certification in Neonatology Pay & Benefits Hourly Pay Rate: $1.00/hr (Note: Pay package discussed upon application) Benefits: Competitive pay package Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements as applicable Potential sign-on bonus and relocation assistance Additional employer-supported benefits to promote work-life balance and family well-being What You’ll Do Provide expert clinical care in a high-acuity Level IIIB NICU with 60 beds and approximately 625 admissions annually Lead clinical operations as Practice Medical Director, overseeing provider performance and patient safety initiatives Drive quality improvement projects and clinical innovation within neonatal services Collaborate with hospital leadership and academic partners to expand neonatal care programs Participate in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, including Grand Rounds and simulation training Mentor residents and staff in research and scholarly activities Utilizing advanced neonatal therapies such as high-frequency ventilation and nitric oxide therapy Support a multidisciplinary team, including maternal-fetal medicine and pediatric surgery What You Need Valid medical license, Board Certification in Neonatology (MD/DO) Minimum 1 year of post-training clinical experience in neonatology preferred Strong leadership and organizational skills Commitment to excellence in patient care and clinical innovation Ability to collaborate effectively with academic and hospital leadership About the Assignment This is a permanent, full-time practice opportunity at a leading facility in Roanoke, VA, affiliated with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
