The Vacancy Seeking Kind & Engaging Companion/Carer Personal Development Worker for Ryan in Dundee  Ryan is recruiting for additional team members in his self-managing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of supporting Ryan to live his good life in his own home. We offer Competitive pay rates: £16.93 per hour (with sleepovers paid at £13.45 per hour) and are recruiting for flexible contract hours up to 24 hours. Sleepover hours are paid in addition to contracted hours. There is an opportunity for flexibility in working hours, above the contracted hours. Ryan's team support him one-to-one for a full 24 hours period - both daytime and nighttime (sleepover).

It is vital that the ideal candidate can provide a full 24 hour shift including sleepover. We are looking for a warm, reliable, and empathetic personal development worker to work for Ryan. The role involves supporting someone living at home, ensuring they feel safe, stimulated, and independent. Ryan has significant receptive and expressive communication difficulties. To support him safely and effectively, the successful candidate will need excellent spoken communication skills and the ability to understand and respond to subtle verbal and non-verbal cues.

This includes recognising emotional cues, interpreting nuanced communication, and adapting their approach to ensure Ryan feels understood, valued, and supported in all aspects of daily life. The posts require a full UK Manual Driver's License. Ryan has a Manual Motability car which is used every day. Ryan is a keen traveller. Ryan would love to be able to travel further afield and enjoy days out in places like Edinburgh perhaps utilising his C+1 card.

Key Responsibilities: Companionship: Engaging in conversation, using AAC and other computer applications, and hobbies. Personal Care: Assisting with washing, dressing, and personal hygiene. Home Support: Light housekeeping, cooking nutritious meals, gardening and shopping. Community Involvement: Accompanying to appointments or social outings / therapy sessions. Requirements: Essential: First language or bilingual English fluency.
