JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Personnel and Industrial Relations Officer EMPLOYER: The National Agricultural Marketing and Development Corporation (NAMDEVCO) Job Summary The Personnel and Industrial Relations Officer is responsible for planning, organising and administering the personnel management and industrial relations functions within the Corporation. Key Responsibilities * Assists the Manager – Human Resources in organising and directing the functions of the personnel management and industrial relations aspect of Human Resources.
* Interprets, advises on and ensures adherence to Government’s personnel management and industrial relations policies, circulars and regulations. * Represents the Corporation at collective bargaining negotiation between the Union, the Personnel Department and/ or other relevant authority on matters relating to the terms and conditions of service of its employees. * Interprets and administers the Corporation’s Industrial Relations Agreements and conducts meeting with employees and representatives of unions to resolve disputes and grievances relating to terms and conditions of services.
* Directs and/or arranges for disciplinary proceedings in accordance with the appropriate regulations and procedures. * Ensures that appropriate records of grievance/disciplinary meetings are maintained. * Ensures that personnel records for all categories of workers in the Corporation are properly maintained and that statistics for those records are compiled when required. * Directs the preparation of employees’ staff reports or other relevant performance appraisals and signs same where necessary.
* Responsible for the Administration of the Corporation ‘s Employee Assistance Programme. Qualifications and Experience * An Associate Degree in Industrial Relations or Degree in Management Studies, Human Resources or Industrial Relations. * A Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Personnel Industrial Relations and Conflict Resolution. * Any equivalent combination of experience and training will be considered.
