Job Overview Dis-Chem Witbank seeks a Pharmacist to dispense medications, provide pharmaceutical expertise, and ensure safe, effective use of prescription medicines. Minimum Requirements Essential Grade 12 / Matric BPharm or equivalent qualification Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) 2–3 years pharmaceutical experience 2–3 years retail pharmacy experience Computer literate (MS Office) Advantageous Retail/FMCG experience Third language SAP experience E‑scripting experience Registered tutor Unisolv experience Duties & Responsibilities Dispensing Dispense medication under pharmacist supervision Interpret scripts accurately per SAPC legal requirements Capture and verify script details on system Ensure accurate picking, packing, labelling, and checking of medication Provide correct usage instructions to patients Stay updated on medical aid procedures and claims Customer Service & Administration Advise patients at dispensary, self‑medication counter, and front‑shop Follow up on script tracking and appointments Explain medical aid costs Process medical aid claims paperwork Correct rejected script errors Authorise chronic, HIV/AIDS, and oncology medication Maintain and merge customer profiles Stock Control Report low/out‑of‑stock levels and errors Facilitate bi‑annual stock takes Exercise stock, cash, and asset control Competencies (Essential) Comprehensive medicine knowledge (dosing, interactions, counselling) Critical thinking and problem‑solving Excellent communication (English + second language) Escalation awareness and quality focus Time management, patience, composure under pressure Computer, numerical skills; Unisolv, SAP, E‑Scripting Special Conditions SAPC registration Willingness to work retail hours Physically fit for prolonged standing Valid driver’s licence and own transport South African citizen Clear credit and criminal record (MIE) Remuneration & Benefits Market‑related salary Medical aid Provident fund Staff account Note: Only successful applicants will be contacted.
