An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacy technician to join our innovative team, providing a medicines management service to the day treatment unit at NDDH. This vacancy is suitable for individuals with a special interest in cancer services who are looking to further their career and make a positive difference to patient outcomes. The successful applicant will join the cancer services pharmacy team which provides the pharmaceutical service to outpatients receiving treatment on the Seamoor Unit.

This will include working alongside pharmacists, doctors, nurses and non-medical prescribers to participate in the management and smooth delivery of SACT as well as other day treatments., Are you a driven pharmacy technician looking for a new opportunity? This is an exciting time to join our expanding pharmacy technician team based on the day treatment unit in North Devon!, To review SACT treatment plans on the electronic prescribing system to ensure availability, visibility to the cancer services pharmacy team, and accurate scheduling of treatment Review treatment plans, clinic letters and critical tests with a view to complete the fit-to-treat process in advance of planned appointments Evaluate patient blood test results prior to marking any patient as fit-to-treat for any SACT treatment in line with appropriate protocols Ensure prescribing of SACT is accurate and escalate any queries/ambiguous prescribing to the relevant teams as appropriate Use a team-based approach to the provision of pharmacy services to the day treatment unit and encourage strong working relationships between departments Deliver and lead daily handover on the day treatment unit, providing the team with relevant, up to date information Applicants will need to hold the relevant NVQ Level 3 and BTEC qualifications and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

It is desirable that you hold a medicines optimisation accreditation and technician checking accreditation or are willing to work towards these.
