PhD Student Position (d/w/m) in Molecular Mechanisms of Aging and Metabolic Health Specialty  Endocrinology and diabetology, Internal medicine Apply now Work time  part-time Start date  01.01.2027  Employment period  limited  Application deadline  08.10.2026 Deployment location Charité  Campus Charité Mitte Jobcode  8204 Salary group  E13 work at the charité  Our research group investigates the molecular and biochemical mechanisms of aging, as well as the development of age-related metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, neurodegeneration, and cancer.

A particular focus of our research is the role of mitochondrial metabolism and redox-dependent signaling pathways in the regulation of cellular homeostasis, metabolic health, and aging. By defining the molecular mechanisms that link mitochondrial and redox dysregulation to cellular dysfunction and disease, we aim to identify critical pathways and molecular targets that may be exploited for therapeutic intervention.

Our findings will provide a mechanistic foundation for the development of innovative preventive and therapeutic strategies to counteract age-related functional decline and disease.
