Opportunity: Physician - Emergency Medicine Job Details: ABEM board certification required Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required to work in freestanding emergency departments, or family medicine with emergency medicine fellowship All shifts are on-site coverage operating 24/7 with shift times of 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM Single physician coverage at each site per shift No call coverage required Patient census ranges from 45 to 80 patients per day depending on site Required procedures include intubations, central line placement, ultrasound utilization, OB deliveries, dislocation reductions, chest tube placement, trauma management, and laceration repair Sites include Level IV trauma centers seeing high acuity patients across all locations Patient populations vary by site including elderly patients, winter Texans, nursing home patients, and mixed age groups APP support staff available at all sites ranging from 9 to 24 hours per day depending on location Admission rates are 10% at freestanding emergency departments and 20% at the main facility Case logs will be required as part of the onboarding process Onboarding includes 2 hours of EMR and quality measures training plus 2 to 3 required shadow shifts Facility: This healthcare system operates multiple emergency department locations across the region, including freestanding emergency departments and a main hospital campus.
The facilities include Level IV trauma centers equipped to handle high acuity cases and a wide variety of emergency medicine presentations. Each location is supported by APP coverage and a dedicated staff focused on delivering quality emergency care to diverse patient populations throughout the area.
