La Châtaigneraie (Secondary) Physics Teacher (Maternity Leave Replacement) La Châtaigneraie Campus – Secondary School Inspire our students through the teaching of physics and support their academic success within our French-speaking and English-speaking streams In brief Campus: La Châtaigneraie – Secondary School (Founex) Department: Sciences Contract type: Fixed-term contract (maternity leave replacement) Period: from 1 December 2026 to 25 June 2027 (at the latest) Workload: Main workload: 37.5% (6.75 h / 18 h) – IGCSE Physics (English) Option 1 (+29%): +5.25 h / 18 h – Physics for the Swiss Federal Maturity (French) Option 2 (+16.6%): +3 h / 18 h – MYP Sciences / Year 9 Physics (French) Application deadline: 25 September 2026 Reference: 200 023 Your role and responsibilities Teach IGCSE Physics for Year 10 and Year 11 classes in English.
If bilingual in French: teach Physics for the Swiss Federal Maturity and/or MYP Sciences (Year 9) in French. Regularly assess students’ progress and provide detailed reports to parents. Ensure curriculum compliance and academic progress for all students. Work closely with department colleagues to design teaching resources, assessments, and enrichment projects. Desired profiles Skills and experience University degree and recognised teaching qualification for Sciences / Physics at IGCSE level.
Proven experience working collaboratively with laboratory technicians and integrating educational technologies in classroom and laboratory settings. Excellent classroom management, organisational, and pedagogical skills. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, students, and parents. Language skills Fluent English, both spoken and written. Bilingual English-French is a major asset (required for the optional teaching load in the French-speaking stream) Personal qualities Passionate commitment to excellence and the success of every student.
Willingness to contribute to departmental enrichment activities (e.g. supervision of Extended Essays, field trips).
