We are looking to appoint two Planners and welcome applications from candidates at different career stages, from graduate level through to experienced Planner and Senior Planner.
You will join a supportive, forward-thinking team working across housing, regeneration, conservation, coastal planning, rural development and major schemes. We would also welcome applications from planners and senior planners who have or wish to gain experience in Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs). At Graduate Planner level ( £31,797 to £38,292 ), you may be studying for or have recently completed a planning degree and be looking to build practical development management experience with support to grow your technical knowledge and confidence.
At Planner level ( £39,531 to £47,796 ), you will have a town planning qualification, relevant development management experience and be eligible for full RTPI membership. You will manage your own caseload, provide professional advice, prepare reports, undertake appeals, represent the Council at appeal hearings and prepare and present reports to planning committee. At Senior Planner level ( £47,796 to £51,927 ), in addition to the above, you will bring stronger technical experience, lead on complex casework, appeals, negotiations and reports, and support service delivery and the development of others in the team.
Graduate and Planner appointments will be supported through our Planner Progression Scheme, with a clear route to develop towards Senior Planner level. Joining at the Senior Planner level, you will have opportunities to broaden your experience and contribute to service delivery. We are looking for motivated team players with strong communication skills, sound judgement and a genuine interest in shaping places for West Norfolk's communities.
