To learn more about our new plant, please visit Wellingborough - FM Conway The duties of the Plant Fitter role will include: Carrying out planned and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance to maximise plant uptime Diagnosing faults and completing repairs, installations, and breakdown response Ensuring compliance with health & safety procedures, including permit to work and LOTOTO Supporting maintenance systems, including CMMS updates and technical documentation Assisting with engineering projects from planning through to commissioning Supervising and coordinating contractors and maintenance activities where required Providing out-of-hours support and mentoring apprentices and team members What skills and experience do you need?

To be considered for this role it is essential that you have experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance within a process or manufacturing environment, along with a strong understanding of health and safety and safe isolation procedures. You will hold a Level 3 engineering qualification and 18th Edition wiring regulations certification. You should be a strong problem solver, able to work independently or as part of a team, with good communication skills and a full UK driving licence.

As our Plant Fitter you will perform a multi-skilled role, carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance, supporting plant operations, and contributing to continuous improvement and future project work. This is a full time, permanent role. Be Part of Something New With over 15 years' experience producing high-quality asphalt, FM Conway operates seven successful asphalt plants across the South of England and is now expanding into the Midlands with our eighth site in Wellingborough.

The successful Lead Fitter will join a brand-new team and will be crucial to setting up the new plant, helping to establish engineering standards, site performance and operational success from the very beginning. Joining ahead of the plant opening in 2027, you will initially work across our existing Southeast sites, from our in-house mental health first aiders.
