About the Role The Councils Capital Delivery Team has a programme of work needing dedicated Building Control input to ensure smooth delivery of its projects.

You will be working closely with the Team to provide regulatory oversight and that all work is compliant with Building Regulations through issuing of appropriate certification. As a Principal Registered Building Inspector (Class 2f or above ), you'll play a pivotal part in ensuring our buildings are safe, compliant, and built to the highest standards. You'll be involved with a varied caseload of building schemes, from new building work to complex regularisations, and work closely with applicants, agents, and professionals across the sector.

Key Duties Undertake detailed inspection of building work in progress, ensure compliance with Building Regulations at plan checking and final inspection of building work Supervise and mentor other Registered Building Inspectors, helping to maintain our quality management system. Progress applications and recommend actions leading to completion certificates, in line with council delegation. Uphold the Registered Building Inspectors' Code of Conduct and contribute to service improvements., Please note: Priority will be given to those at risk of redundancy within Islington Council.
