Job Title: Psychiatrist – Mental Health – Region 1 Location: Toledo, OH Shift/Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (flexible start hours as needed) Duration: Minimum 6 months Job Summary: We are seeking a Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric care in a mental health setting. The ideal candidate will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients, provide psychotherapy, coordinate care with clinical staff, and participate in educational activities.
Key Responsibilities: • Evaluate, examine, analyze, diagnose, and treat patients. • Prescribe medications and provide in-depth psychotherapy and counseling. • Monitor and coordinate the work of medical, nursing, and direct care staff related to psychiatric care. • Review patient records for accuracy and completeness and recommend improvements in staffing or organizational processes.
• Conduct and participate in lectures, seminars, and training sessions for professional and paraprofessional staff. Education & Certification: • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO). • Certificate to practice medicine per state requirements. • Completion of an accredited residency program in psychiatry. • Recognition as a psychiatrist by relevant medical associations or equivalent experience (5+ years of psychiatry practice).
Licenses & Credentials: • Active state medical license. • DEA certification Skills & Competencies: • Strong knowledge of medicine, psychology, sociology, anatomy, and physiology. • Skill in prescribing and administering medications. • Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, draw conclusions, and make decisions. • Ability to handle sensitive interactions with patients.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC or similar) is a plus.
