VACANT POST NOTICE QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER- INTERNAL About The Sir Arthur Lewis Community College Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, the premier tertiary learning institution in Saint Lucia and the Eastern Caribbean, was established in 1985 and named after the world-famous economist and Nobel Laureate, Sir William Arthur Lewis. The College offers a wide range of cutting-edge and globally relevant academic and technical programmes from Bachelor’s and Associate degrees to TVET and Executive and Leadership training.
Our programmes are undergirded by three main pillars: Sustainability, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. These goals are in keeping with the Government of Saint Lucia’s commitment to the implementation of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals. The College has two campuses (Main Campus at Morne Fortune, Castries and South Campus in Vieux Fort) and an Experimental Farm in Dennery. The College is governed by a Board of Governors and a Management Team led by the Principal and Vice Principals.
The Management Team includes Deans and Department Heads that manage the day-to-day operations of the institution, its faculty members and supporting staff members. Applications Are Invited From Suitably Qualified Persons To Fill In The Following Position At The Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC) QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER Primary Function The Quality Assurance Officer supports the Manager, Institutional Effectiveness in the coordination and monitoring of the quality assurance system across the institution.
Qualifications And Experience Master’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education, Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation preferred. Certified professional training or proven experience in conducting quality audits is an asset. Experience in monitoring and evaluation of programmes Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the role and requirements of quality assurance. At least three (3) years in the preferred field.
Skills KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio software. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team Knowledge of quality standards Attention to detail Strong analytical skills Problem Solving Risk Based Thinking Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to maintain confidentiality. Duties And Responsibilities To assist in monitoring the levels of compliance of the institution’s quality assurance system, policies and procedures with standards for accreditation, and regulatory requirements. To assist in conducting quality audits and facilities monitoring reviews. To assemble and compile basic data for quality review reports. To assist with the tracking, and monitoring of non-conformances, and corrective and continuous improvement actions.
To assist with training in quality assurance practice and procedures throughout the College. To assist in the preparation of materials and presentations for training programmes, such as, workshops for improving quality across the institution. To liaise with faculty and staff to provide guidance on quality assurance issues as required. To assist in the compilation of evidence and preparation of submissions for institutional and specialised accreditation.
To maintain records related to the monitoring and review of the institution’s Quality Management System (QMS). Benchmark institutional practices against external ones and recommend changes to policy where necessary. Make recommendations on the development of the College’s academic quality strategies and plans, through assessment of associated risks and compliance. To develop a quality assurance report/ handbook on the institution for dissemination.
