Ultrasound Technician Job Description The Ultrasound Technician is a qualified professional responsible for delivering essential diagnostic services to patients, both inpatient and outpatient, under the direction of a Radiologist. This role involves performing abdominal, pelvic (gynecological & obstetrical), and transvaginal sonograms, along with small parts scanning (thyroid, breast, and scrotum).
The technician will also conduct ultrasound-guided biopsies, drainage, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and aspirations in accordance with departmental protocols. Responsibilities Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations Conduct ultrasound-guided procedures as needed Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations Work collaboratively with Radiologists and healthcare teams Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures Schedule This position requires a full-time commitment with shifts scheduled from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
The Ultrasound Technician must also be willing to take call as needed. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Must be a graduate of an accredited AMA school Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) ARDMS or RDCS certification required BLS certification through the American Heart Association Experience in Echo and OB required Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.
