RCL Foods, one of South Africa's leading food manufacturers and distributors, is seeking a diligent and trustworthy Cashier to join its Commercial team based at the Vaal Depot in Pretoria, Gauteng . This is a critical operational role that sits at the heart of daily financial activity, ensuring that all incoming cash from drivers is accurately received, counted, recorded and secured before being deposited with the bank.

Key Responsibilities Receive all cash deposits submitted by drivers at the end of their routes and verify amounts against relevant documentation. Count cash received from drivers and balance each amount against the corresponding deposit slip to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Compile and complete a cashup summary by accurately recording all cash and cheques received during each business day. Prepare daily bank deposits, ensuring that all funds are correctly packaged and documented in readiness for banking. Record seal numbers in the designated register to maintain a complete and auditable trail of all cash movements. Maintain the security and integrity of the cash office at all times, keeping the office door locked and ensuring that no unauthorised individuals gain access.
Lock all cash in the safe overnight and ensure that the previous day's takings are removed from the premises by no later than 11:00 am the following business day. Support general cash office administration and compliance with internal financial controls and company policy. Requirements & Qualifications A Grade 12 / Matric certificate with Mathematics as a passed subject is the minimum educational requirement.
Candidates must reside in or around the Vaal area to be considered for this position. Previous experience in a similar role — such as a cash office, banking environment or retail cashiering — will be considered a strong advantage. Sound numerical literacy and the ability to balance and reconcile cash amounts accurately without error. A high degree of personal integrity, honesty and accountability, given the sensitive nature of handling company funds.
Ability to work in a disciplined, security-conscious manner and adhere strictly to cash-handling procedures and protocols. Good organisational skills and attention to detail, with the capacity to meet daily deadlines for cash preparation and banking. A reliable, punctual and professional work ethic suited to the demands of a fast-paced depot environment.
