Duties: Recreational Coaches at Elevate Gymnastics Club are primarily responsible for the safe and effective facilitation of classes, utilizing provided lesson plans.
This role is crucial in delivering a high-quality, fun, and educational experience to our young gymnasts. Key Duties and Responsibilities Facilitate lesson plans, provide clear class instruction, perform spotting duties if needed, and assist with grading and distributing approved progress reports. Collaborate effectively with other coaching staff to ensure successful class delivery and a cohesive team environment.
Communicate regularly with the Recreational Coordinator regarding athletes' progress, concerns, and achievements. Perform general cleaning and tidying duties to ensure a safe and organized facility. Maintain complete vigilance while on duty, always prepared to respond to any emergency situation promptly and effectively. Complete basic administrative duties in a timely manner, including attendance tracking, and incident/accident reports, as well as opening and closing procedures.
Maintain a safe and tidy program space, ensuring all equipment is set up, utilized, and stored appropriately. Report all concerns, accidents, and incidents to the Executive Director for immediate follow-up. Understand, adhere to, and strictly enforce all organization Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures, and Health and Safety Standards. Participate in staff meetings and sessional courses or clinics offered, as required, for ongoing professional development.
Opportunities to lead childcare camps, birthday parties, and various club events may be available (optional). Perform other duties as assigned to support the club's operations. Qualifications: Previous gymnastics coaching experience or competitive gymnastics experience. NCCP Gymnastics Foundations certification (Artistic Gymnastics) or higher is considered a strong asset. Candidates with a gymnastics background who are willing to obtain NCCP certification are encouraged to apply.
Passion for athlete development and teaching proper gymnastics fundamentals. Strong knowledge of artistic gymnastics skill progressions and safe coaching practices. Positive, enthusiastic, and professional attitude with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Strong communication, organization, and time management abilities. Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching team. Successful completion of a Clean Criminal Record Check with Judicial Matters (Level 2), or Vulnerable Sector Check (18+ only).
