Regional Transportation Safety & Compliance Manager - Southeast Florida | Waste Pro Relocation Assistance Available for Qualified Candidates Lead Safety Where It Matters Most - In the Field Waste Pro is seeking an experienced Regional Compliance Manager to lead transportation safety, regulatory compliance, accident prevention, and workplace injury initiatives across our Southeast Florida operations, West Palm Beach, Florida.

This is a hands-on regional leadership position for a safety professional who understands the day-to-day realities of commercial fleet, hauling, transportation, and field operations. The ideal candidate brings strong working knowledge of commercial motor vehicle safety, DOT/FMCSA regulations, applicable CFR requirements, OSHA General Industry standards and recordkeeping, accident investigation, root-cause analysis, workers' compensation injury reporting, and driver safety and compliance.

Just as important, you must be able to take complex regulatory requirements and turn them into practical expectations that supervisors, managers, drivers, helpers, technicians, and other frontline employees can understand and apply. You will work closely with Regional and Division Leadership, Operations, Fleet Maintenance, Human Resources, Corporate Safety, supervisors, drivers, helpers, and technicians throughout Southeast Florida.

You will be expected to spend time in the field, evaluate operating practices, investigate accidents and injuries, identify trends and root causes, coach and educate leaders, strengthen accountability, and develop practical solutions that improve both employee safety and fleet performance. We are looking for a forward-thinking, confident safety leader who communicates well at every level of the organization, can be assertive when circumstances require it, and is comfortable managing both people and processes.

Experience in waste, environmental services, hauling, trucking, transportation, or another commercial fleet-intensive industry is especially valuable because of the fast-paced, operational nature of our business. What You'll Do You will oversee and support safety and compliance programs across multiple locations and operating environments, including hauling facilities, equipment yards, maintenance facilities, landfills, recycling centers, transfer stations, residential and commercial collection operations, and Balers & Compactors operations.

Transportation & Fleet Safety Lead regional commercial fleet safety, driver safety, accident prevention, and regulatory compliance initiatives. Manage DOT compliance, including Hours of Service (HOS), vehicle weight requirements, DOT accident logs, roadside citations, and post-accident documentation. Apply working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations to real-world driver and commercial vehicle safety situations.

Understand and appropriately apply applicable DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements, including post-accident and reasonable-suspicion testing criteria. Review onboard camera footage, telematics, GPS, road observations, driver behavior, and other available safety information to identify unsafe trends and coaching opportunities. Analyze accident frequency and driver-safety trends and develop strategies to reduce preventable accidents.

Accident & Root-Cause Investigation Respond to and investigate commercial vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, property damage, and other significant safety events. Conduct thorough investigations using driver and witness statements, photographs, police reports, onboard camera footage, telematics, vehicle information, maintenance records, and other available evidence. Conduct and support preventability determinations and root-cause investigations to identify not simply what happened, but why it happened.
