Job Title Registered Nurse – ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Location Toledo, OH | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Expected 36 hours/week Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to critically ill adult patients with complex cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and metabolic conditions in a general ICU setting at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio Manage and operate specialized equipment including Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, NxStage CRRT, PA/Swan-Ganz catheters, Zoll/Arctic Sun, and Alaris IV pumps Initiate and titrate vasopressors, cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and continuous IV sedation; assist with RSI, central line placement, and arterial line placement Perform CVP monitoring, target temperature management, post-cath radial band management, and femoral arterial/venous sheath removal Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, ABGs, and multi-system organ failure; provide care for ventilated patients including HFNC and ETT/NT suctioning Float as needed to adult ICUs, adult acute care, and ED for boarding inpatients across multiple facilities; document using EPIC charting system Required Qualifications Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio — pending licensure not accepted Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale EPIC charting experience required Must be available for every-other-weekend shifts; no on-call requirement Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local travelers are not accepted Preferred Experience / Skills Prior experience with CRRT/CVVHD, IABP, and PA/Swan-Ganz catheter monitoring Experience in a Level I trauma center or teaching hospital environment Familiarity with hypothermia/Arctic Sun protocol and target temperature management First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply Why Join Us Opportunity to work in a high-acuity ICU at a Level I trauma center and teaching hospital serving the region's most complex patient populations Free parking on-site; schedules are communicated with a minimum two-week notice for any changes
