Job Title Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Mixed Unit: PCU, Med Surg Tele, Med Surg) Location Toledo, OH | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Every other weekend required (Friday & Saturday evenings) Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a mixed unit encompassing PCU, Med Surg Telemetry, and Med Surg levels for adult patients with diagnoses including CHF, COPD, pneumonia, GI bleeds, cystic fibrosis, and post-surgical conditions Perform cardiac monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, with telemetry monitoring conducted on the unit Manage IV therapy including central line care, PICC line management, peripheral line care, blood product administration, and starting IVs; perform TPN and insulin drip titration Provide post-operative care for bariatric, hepatobiliary, and colorectal surgery patients, including surgical drain management and wound care/wound vac Manage respiratory support including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management; provide feeding tube care and management Float within service line and between affiliated facilities as needed, covering units such as Neuro/Stroke, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Trauma, Oncology, General Surgery, Uro/Vascular, and Observation Required Qualifications Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio (pending license not accepted); Michigan license must be in hand if applicable Minimum 1 year of acute care experience Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale Epic charting experience required No on-call requirement Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local travelers are not accepted Two references from within the last 24 months required; one reference contact must be submitted within 72 hours of signing Preferred Experience / Skills Prior experience on a mixed PCU/Med Surg Tele/Med Surg unit Experience with bariatric, hepatobiliary, or colorectal surgical patient populations Familiarity with titration of insulin drips and TPN management Experience floating across multiple units or facilities Why Join Us Opportunity to work at a Level I Trauma Center and one of the largest acute care hospitals in the region, offering exposure to a high-acuity, diverse patient population Complimentary parking on-site; schedules are communicated with a two-week notice for any changes to support work-life planning
