Job Title Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Float Pool) Location Overland Park, KS | Intermediate Care/PCU/Stepdown Schedule / Job Type Contract | Days, 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite | Float Pool Key Responsibilities Float between approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments across multiple metro campuses as needed — this is a float pool position and no home unit will be assigned Provide direct patient care in telemetry, cardiac, neuro stepdown, and medical/surgical settings with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias; provide telemetry monitoring on the unit Care for patients presenting with conditions including sepsis, stroke, renal failure, GI bleed, AFIB, ETOH, SI, wound care, and COVID Perform pre/post cardiac catheterization care and respond to emergent situations Take on holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unit; expected 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) Required Qualifications Active RN license — both Kansas and Missouri licensure (or compact license covering both states) required at time of submission Minimum 1–2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers accepted Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response including dysrhythmia interpretation and management Experience in Med/Surg, telemetry, cardiac telemetry, and neuro stepdown work settings Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted Preferred Experience / Skills ACLS certification preferred Experience with sheath removal (cardiovascular) Feeding tube care and management IV therapy skills including port access, blood product administration, and central line care/management Why Join Us Gain broad clinical exposure by floating across multiple Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments and metro campuses, expanding your skill set in a dynamic environment Work with advanced technology including Virtual Nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell in a well-supported acute care setting
