Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Title Registered Nurse – Operating Room Location Baltimore, MD | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Days | Expected 40 hours/week | 2x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM, varying Monday–Friday) and 2x8-hour shifts (7:00 AM–3:30 PM, every Saturday and Sunday) | On-call required based on unit needs Key Responsibilities Function as a member of the patient care team in a General Operating Room setting, providing safe, age-appropriate care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients Support a high-volume OR environment averaging approximately 40 cases per day across a broad range of surgical specialties Perform scrub and/or circulating duties across procedures including Trauma, ENT, Colorectal, Plastics, Neurosurgery, Surgical Oncology, Oral/Dental, Laparoscopic, Urology, Ophthalmology, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Robotics, Vascular, and Thoracic Maintain proficiency in emergency OR response, fire safety, malignant hyperthermia protocols, and latex allergy precautions Operate and maintain electrosurgical units, fiber-optic equipment, and Steris equipment Float within scope as needed to meet facility staffing needs; serve as a resource for patients and families Required Qualifications Valid Maryland RN license or compact RN license required at time of submission Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required Level II trauma experience required BLS certification required 16-hour Maryland-approved trauma course required 8 hours of annual trauma CEUs required Proficiency in Cerner/Surginet charting system Local candidates are welcome Preferred Experience / Skills Teaching hospital experience preferred Level I trauma experience preferred ACLS certification preferred PALS certification preferred Why Join Us Work in a technologically advanced OR environment that supports minimally invasive techniques, evidence-based care, surgical education, and interdisciplinary collaboration Scrubs are provided, supporting a seamless transition into the unit
