Description Job Title: Registered Nurse IDepartment: Orthopedic SurgeryLocation: RGHHours Per Week: Full Time/36 hours per weekSchedule: Straight Shift- Days. Every other weekend/holidays.SUMMARY:As a Registered Nurse (RN), you're the engine and the heart of patient care at Rochester Regional Health. You make a positive difference every single day in the lives of our patients, their family members and visitors - going above and beyond to meet their needs with courtesy, kindness, respect and compassion.The Inpatient Orthopedic Unit (3800) is a 16-bed, newly renovated unit specializing in joint replacements, spinal surgeries, upper extremity procedures, general surgeries, and orthopedic trauma.

RNs on 3800 provide direct bedside care, patient education, pain management, post-op recovery support, and discharge planning. The unit also operates as a Virtual Nursing Unit, with RNs committing to one virtual care shift per week as part of their schedule.RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides high-quality, patient-centered, clinical carePerforms initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, utilizing appropriate data (i.e.

physical, psychological, educational and risk-screen data appropriate for the chronological / developmental age of the patient).Communicates and documents assessment of patient with the interdisciplinary team. Utilizes all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family.Develops and documents plan of care, treatment and services which is individualized and appropriate for the patient needs, strengths, limitations and goals.Complies with organizational policies, procedures and protocols including policies governing safety, medication administration and documentation.Revises plan of care based on ongoing evaluations and updates documentation appropriately.Completes at least one clinical research utilization (CRU) form for submission to Nursing Research Department utilizing a research article from the last 5 years from research performed in the United States.COMPLIANCE:Completes a minimum of 5 nationally approved contact hours (CNE or CEU) per year.Completes mandatory in-services and health screens in timely manner.Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing requiredRegistered Nurse license in New York State.Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:•Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.At least 6 months experience preferredEDUCATION: AS: Nursing (Required)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20-50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning.

Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation.

TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)RN - Registered Nurse - NYS Office of ProfessionsPAY RANGE: $38.67 - $51.92 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
