Job Title Registered Nurse – Telemetry Location Newport News, VA | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every other weekend required (including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights) | Holiday shifts may be scheduled if a holiday falls within the assignment period Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 54-bed Cardiovascular Telemetry unit, organized across three 18-bed wings Care for cardiovascular telemetry patients, including those placed in an overflow unit as needed Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records Float to other units based on facility needs as requested Adhere to NIH and stroke education standards as required for acute care RN practice Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Virginia license must be in hand at time of submittal, or proof of a compact license must be provided BLS certification required — must be through the American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification required — must be through the American Heart Association (AHA) NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required Telemetry or cardiovascular specialty experience within the last year EPIC charting experience required One supervisory reference required at time of submittal Flexible scheduling preferred; every other weekend availability (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights) is required Locals are welcome and accepted Preferred Experience / Skills Experience in a cardiovascular telemetry setting Familiarity with NIH and stroke education protocols Ability to keep time-off requests to a minimum throughout the assignment period Why Join Us Opportunity to work in a structured, high-acuity cardiovascular telemetry environment with a well-organized unit layout Contract position offering consistent night shift scheduling in a reputable acute care setting
