We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Southampton as our new Resort Driver. Reporting to the Director, Front Office, the Resort Driver plays an important role in supporting guest experiences and operational efficiency at Fairmont Southampton. This position is responsible for safely transporting guests around the resort, operating resort vehicles (including food & beverage and laundry transport trucks), and providing helpful information about the resort and surrounding area.
The Resort Driver serves as a welcoming ambassador for the property and ensures prompt, courteous service to both guests and team members. Key Responsibilities Guest Transportation & Service Transport guests around the resort in a timely, safe, and friendly manner. Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage or personal items when needed. Provide guests with information about resort amenities, services, and local attractions when appropriate.
Maintain a courteous, professional, and welcoming demeanor with all guests and colleagues. Vehicle Operation & Maintenance Operate all designated resort vehicles, including cars, vans, utility trucks, and transport vehicles, in accordance with safety regulations and hotel standards. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and maintain cleanliness of vehicles.
Follow all hotel policies and traffic laws while driving and transporting guests or supplies. Operational Support Transport goods and supplies (primarily food & beverage and laundry) to support hotel operations. Maintain accurate logs and records of vehicle usage, mileage, and trip details. Coordinate with Front Office, Concierge, and other departments to support guest transportation needs and ensure smooth operations.
Safety & Compliance Adhere to all hotel safety procedures, driving standards, and regulatory requirements. Promote safe driving practices and compliance with resort policies at all times. Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries, requests, or concerns. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Clean driving record with no serious violations. Competencies, Knowledge & Skills Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong knowledge of local roads, resort grounds, and best routes for safe, efficient transportation. Ability to operate a variety of vehicles safely and confidently. Good communication skills and professional presentation. Capable of maintaining vehicle logs, basic vehicle checks, and reporting maintenance concerns.
