Rigger – Job Description Skilled mechanical tradesperson responsible for safely attaching, balancing, lifting, and moving heavy materials, structural components, and machinery. Ensure all lifting procedures adhere strictly to Qatar’s rigorous Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations. Key Responsibilities: Select proper rigging gear like slings, shackles, cables, and hooks based on weight requirements.
Inspect lifting equipment and accessories before every shift to spot damage or wear. Direct crane operators via standard hand signals or radio systems to navigate narrow gaps safely. Review and execute approved lifting blueprints and load charts with precision. Clean lifting gear, assemble temporary scaffolds, and complete pre-lift safety briefings. Education: ITI / Diploma Certificate Certifications: Valid third-party certification from recognized bodies like TUV, Velosi, or Bureau Veritas.
Offshore roles highly favor OPITO Rigger Training certifications. Experience: 5 years of rigging experience specifically in the oil, gas, or petrochemical sectors.
