Emergency Department Registered Nurse Location Must reside within 75 miles of the facility for travel positions. Local candidates are welcome. Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule 12-hour evening shift from 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Job Description We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team. The ED RN will be responsible for providing care to patients in a fast-paced environment, addressing a variety of medical emergencies including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
The unit consists of 64 beds with a diverse patient demographic, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Department. Administer medications and provide treatments as required. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes. Monitor and document patient conditions using EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
Manage critical situations, including the use of specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusors and Arctic Sun. Float to different areas of the ED as necessary. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an Emergency Department, including pediatric nursing experience. Current RN license in New York with NURSYS license verification. ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required.
