Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Assignment Duration This is a 26-week contract position, with a hard start date of 11/16. Schedule Night shift schedule: 3×12 hours (19:00 – 07:30), with every other weekend coverage required. Self-scheduling is available. Job Description We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).
The ideal candidate will have a robust background in critical care nursing, specifically in cardiovascular cases, and will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to adults and geriatric patients. Responsibilities Monitor and manage patients with cardiovascular conditions, including interpretation of dysrhythmias and administration of IV insulin protocols. Provide care for ventilated patients and perform procedures such as arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to isolation precautions. Participate in patient education and support within an interdisciplinary team environment, collaborating with physical therapy, respiratory services, and other specialties. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, specifically in a cardiovascular setting, including open-heart and balloon pump experience.
Active California Registered Nurse license required. Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
