Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Candidates must possess relevant experience and skills to excel in this dynamic environment. General Information Number of Beds: 7 Pre/Post Bays, 2 Procedural Suites Experience Requirements: Will accept candidates with 1 year of experience First-time travelers welcome with at least 2 years of experience Patient Types Candidates will provide care for a range of patients undergoing various procedures, including: Biopsies UFE procedures Kyphoplasties Port placements Diagnostic angiograms Interventional arterial procedures Interventional venous procedures IVC placements Venous thrombectomies Neurological thrombectomies Coiling Aneurysm rupture repairs Paracentesis Thoracentesis Patient Ratios 1:1 in procedure rooms Up to 1:3 in the pre/post area Required Certifications BLS ACLS NIHSS Skills Required ICU care Moderate sedation Arterial line management Medication titration Chest tube management Neuro experience, specifically in thrombectomies and aneurysm coiling Carotid stent placement Unit Support Charge Nurse available for oversight 1 RN and 2-3 Techs assist in each procedure room Technology and Equipment EMR: Cerner IV Pumps: Plum 360 Medication Dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Spacelabs Floating Requirements RNs may float to other procedural areas if skillset qualifies, such as the cath lab pre/post area.
Orientation and Training Orientation includes 2 shifts on the unit and 1-2 shifts focused on education/onboarding. Scheduling Information Routine procedures are scheduled Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM. Emergency coverage is available 24/7. On-call requirements typically occur every 4 weeks, including one night during the week. 2 RNs and 1 Tech are on the call team. Holiday Expectations Travel staff will be treated equally with core staff regarding holiday coverage.
Core staff are required to cover one winter holiday (Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, New Year’s) and one summer holiday (July 4th, Memorial Day, Labor Day). Time Off Approval All requests for time off need to be approved by the Manager. Shift Information Shifts consist of four 10-hour workdays per week with rotating off-days, from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
