Medical Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse Location Not specified Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Job Description The Medical Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care in a small, collaborative team environment. The nurse will manage patients with medical-surgical and telemetry needs, including orthopedic, urology, ENT, GYN, and general surgical patients, as well as some progressive care patients, ensuring exceptional patient outcomes and safety.
Responsibilities Monitor and assess patient conditions through telemetry and direct observation. Administer medications and treatments as per established protocols. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including hospitalists, to provide comprehensive patient care. Perform necessary unit-specific procedures and protocols, including IV starts and EKGs. Participate in emergency response initiatives for Code 99 and Rapid Response events.
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding care plans. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Medical Surgical Telemetry nursing. AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required prior to start. Prior travel nursing experience is preferred. EPIC experience within the last 2 years is a must.
