Registered Nurse – Operating Room Location Baltimore, MD Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Day shift, 3×12-hour shifts (11:00 AM – 11:30 PM) Job Description The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room will provide direct care in a fast-paced environment, functioning as a member of the patient care team. The role involves serving pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients and requires proficiency in a variety of surgical procedures.
Responsibilities Provide safe, age-appropriate care to patients during surgical procedures. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, serving as a resource for information and support. Proficiently manage operations involving Trauma, ENT, Colorectal, Plastics, Neurosurgery, Surgical Oncology, among others. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and adherence to evidence-based standards.
Participate in the orientation of new staff as required. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience required, with Level II trauma experience preferred. Must possess a valid Maryland RN license or a compact RN license upon submission. BLS certification required; ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications preferred. Completion of a 16-hour Maryland-approved trauma course within the first 27 weeks and 8 hours of annual trauma CEUs.
