PCU/Step Down Float RN – Night Shift Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Night shift, 3×12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. Job Description We are seeking an experienced PCU/Step Down Float Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing patient care across various units in a short-term acute care facility. The nurse will float between units, including but not limited to, patients boarded from the ER, telemetry, and med-surg units.
Responsibilities Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting changes to the healthcare team. Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and manage patient flow. Potentially serve as a Charge Nurse in smaller units, overseeing staffing and operational coordination. Provide education and support to patients and their families. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, including charge responsibilities.
Experience in the US healthcare system is required; Canadian experience alone is not applicable. ACLS and NIHSS certifications are preferred. Valid RN license, preferably a compact license.
