PCU/Step Down Float Registered Nurse Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Night Shift: 3×12-Hour (19:00 – 07:30) Job Description The PCU/Step Down Float Registered Nurse will work in a team to meet the needs of the institution, floating between various units and managing diverse patient populations including ER boarded patients, telemetry, and medical-surgical cases. The role requires flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to handle varying acuities across departments.
Responsibilities Manage patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6 depending on unit acuity. Perform core charge nurse duties on smaller units, including staffing management, bed flow coordination, and general unit oversight. Participate in the administration of care including BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, and central line care. Ensure the overall safety and well-being of patients through effective monitoring and interventions.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 3 years of charge nurse experience is required. Must have valid RN license; compact license must be in hand at submission. Experience in telemetry and various patient care environments is preferred. ACLS and NIHSS certifications are required. Experience with EPIC charting system is a must. Why ARMStaffing?
