Pediatric Emergency Department Registered Nurse Schedule D/E/N Rotating Shift Schedules, Weekends/Holidays/On-Call/Callback/Charge per Unit Needs. 48 hours/week strongly preferred. Job Description The Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED) provides family-centered care to patients under the age of 19 experiencing urgent and emergent issues at a Level 1 pediatric trauma and burn center. The department includes 18 general care beds, 1 critical care bed, 4 urgent care beds, and a shared trauma bay with the adult emergency department.
Staff are trained to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, managing a complex case mix from treat and release to acute critical care/trauma. Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced pediatric emergency environment. Manage assessments, interventions, and patient education for pediatric patients. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure 2 years of Pediatric Emergency Department experience required. BLS certification from the American Heart Association required. PALS certification from the American Heart Association required. ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required. New York State RN License required. NIHSS required. Preferred Qualifications Burn care experience highly desirable.
